Other than adding information for one particular noun, adjective is also used to show comparison between one thing to another. For instance, you might want to compare with your friends a few things that you own. This is where the adjective is used to compare either it is suppose to be in comparative form or superlative form.

1-Comparative

* Is used in order to compare between two people or things.
eg : he is braver than me.
Comparison is only made between two people.

However, there are rules to be followed and understood before the comparison is made. These types of comparisons are:-

i- Adjectives with one syllable
*Usually,if the adjective has only one syllable, you just have to add the letter r for comparative or
-est for superlative at the end of the adjective word.

ii- Adjectives with one syllable ends with the letter e
* If the one syllable word ends with the letter e ,you just have to add the letter r for comparative or
-st for superlative at the end of the adjective word.
* The letter e is not used in the superlative form is because there is already a letter e in the one syllable              adjective word.

iii- Adjectives with two syllables
* For some of the two syllable adjective word you have to used , some of them have to add -er / -r for the      comparative or add -est / -st for the superlative.
* The usage of additional depends on the last letter of the two syllable adjective word. (Refer to i)
* Some of the words use more for comparative and most for superlative.

iv- Adjectives with three syllables or more
* If the adjective word has three syllables or more ,the word more is used for comparative and most for      superlative.

v- Adjectives that change their spelling
* There are some of the one-syllable adjective word that ends with consonant letter has to be added another    same consonant letter at the end  before adding -er or -est .
* If the letter ends with the letter y , it has to be changed to an i before adding -er or -est .
* Some of the adjective has irregular comparative and superlative form as they change totally from the          root word, to comparative or superlative.
